The state government revised the minimum wages effective from 2nd January 2024. The State of Jharkhand has divided the areas under the following categories:

Area ‘A’: Ranchi Municipal Corporation, Chas Municipal Corporation, Dhanbad Municipal Corporation, Hazaribagh Municipal Corporation and Jamshedpur Notified Area, Mango Municipal Corporation, Jugsalai Municipal Council, and Adityapur Municipal Corporation Areas.
Area ‘A’: Area ‘B’: All Civic Body/Municipal Areas and Notified Areas except ‘A’ category Panchayat.
Area ‘A’: Area ‘C’: Other areas of the state
