Objectives and Goals are very similar jargons in the goal-setting process of a company. Goals are the quantifiable results that are expected by applying various strategies whereas objectives are the precise actions to work to reach desired final goals. Objectives are small steps taken towards the results and take an individual closer to the goal. These are time-bound targets and narrower in scope as compared to goals.

Objectives are small and specific steps, associated with the final goal, must be completed in a given time target, easy to measure, short or medium-term in nature.

A few examples of objectives are:

    • I will attend five technology webinars in a year.
    • I will read one book every month.
