Bumping

Read Time: 1 Mins

Bumping is a common practice used by organizations during downsizing to reserve good talent. In this process, a senior-level employee is offered another position of less seniority within the organization. This way, the employee already working on the same less senior position gets bumped and replaced by the senior employee. The process helps employers in saving qualified and valued employees during downsizing.
