Summary Dismissal of Employment

Summary dismissal of employment also referred to as a summary dismissal or instant dismissal is the instant termination of an employee for serious misbehavior. A summary dismissal allows an employee to be fired without warning or payment in place of notice.

Reasons for Summary Dismissal –

  • Attending work while inebriated or under the influence of drugs, alcohol, or other substances
  • Health and safety rules are being clearly violated
  • Discrimination, harassment, or violence towards another employee, a client, or a customer is all prohibited
  • Causing damage to corporate property
  • Stealing confidential information or data from a company, a client, or a customer
  • Creating a competing company
  • For or against the firm, being dishonest or committing theft, bribery, fraud, or sabotage
  • Substantial disobedience
