Read Time: 1 Mins

LOP means Loss of Pay, it can be stated as for leave taken by the employee when he/she does not have enough leave balance in his/her account and but is given permission to remain absent. If an employee has no enough leaves to his/her credit, the employer can permit LOP (Loss of Pay) also known as Leave Without Pay (LWP) On a strike day, if an employer is planning to give leave and to compensate that particular workday on a weekend, and an employee does not show up both the day, then he/she would be given a LOP. Also, if an employee works on a weekend to complete his/her work due to lack of inefficiency or guidance, that day would also be treated as LOP.
