Hiring strategy is a creative way of choosing a candidate strategically who can upraise the company towards its goals. It is not necessary that the best candidate wins a job position on the basis of his/her skills. Many times a person who is recommended by an existing employee or has diversified skills that exactly match the open job proves to be better than the higher qualified candidate. Hiring strategically is all about hiring a candidate who is compatible with the job profile whether or not he/she is the most qualified one. For example, for a sales manager profile, a company hires a candidate whose communication skills are friendly and who is good and maintaining relationships rather than a person who is more qualified than this candidate. Of course, qualification matters but in this case strategy is kept in a focused area.
