Golden handcuffs are a metaphoric way of defining a special collection of benefits or incentives offered to an employee to encourage him/her to stay longer with the company than their actual plan. It can include raises, bonuses, etc offered at regular intervals of time. Normally, golden handcuffs are common in organizations where highly compensated employees can move from one company to another.
