Most cities don’t carry their own payroll obligations on top of state and federal rules. Denver does. Six things shape every Denver paycheck. Keka handles each one inside the same payroll cycle, so you don’t have to track them manually.
Every Denver paycheck passes through federal payroll taxes, Colorado’s flat state income tax, and Denver-specific items like the city minimum wage and Occupational Privilege Tax. Keka applies the right layer based on each employee’s work location.
Keka stays updated with every federal, state, and local payroll rule – so you never worry about tax changes or compliance gaps.

Yes. Keka supports configuration of the FAMLI premium with the employer/employee split and the $184,500 wage cap, and generates wage data for quarterly submission through My FAMLI+ Employer. Colorado’s FAMLI rules allow small employers (under 10 employees in the previous calendar year) to collect only the employee half of the premium.
Colorado requires final pay immediately for involuntary terminations. If the payroll accounting unit isn’t operational at the time of separation, payment is due within 6 hours of the start of the next workday. If the payroll accounting unit is located offsite, the deadline extends to 24 hours. Voluntary resignations are due on the next regular payday. Keka’s offboarding flow lets HR initiate the final paycheck inside the standard payroll cycle.
Both agencies require employers to retain wage and tax records for multiple years. Keka centralizes payroll and employee records with secure, searchable access, so you can pull wage reports, FAMLI premium data, OPT calculations, and timesheet data directly when needed.
Federal, state, and local payroll requirements, handled automatically from start to finish.
