Characteristics of Organization Development

Organization Development is a planned change. It excludes spontaneous changes made by organizations from time to time.
OD is a long-range affair. It takes months to implement the plan of OD.
The OD activities are initiated, implemented, and supervised by the top management.
OD primarily focuses on changing the culture and structure of an organization for better results.
OD tries to integrate the organizational and the individual’s goals so as to increase organizational effectiveness.
