Corporate Identification Number { CIN }
CIN is known as the ‘Corporate Identification Number’ of a company. It is a 21-digit alphanumerical code that defines the unique identity of a company. The ROC (Registrar of Companies) of various states across the Nation Under MCA (Ministry of Corporate Affairs) issues Unique CIN to all types of businesses including Private Limited Companies, Companies owned by the Government of India, State Government Companies, etc. registered in India.
What is the Importance of the CIN number?
As per section 12(3) © of the Companies Act 2013, “Every company shall get its name, address of its registered office and the Corporate Identity Number along with telephone number, fax number, if any, e-mail and website addresses, if any, printed in all its business letters, billheads, letter papers and in all its notices and other official publications;” CIN Number is used to track every activity of a company post its registration by ROC (Registrar of Companies). The unique CIN number is also used to find the details of the company registered under MCA.
